The illustrations in this volume are official U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) photographs. Negatives for most of these photographs are held by the National Archives and Records Administration’s Still Pictures Branch. Photographs with an NH or NAH preceding the number are held by the Naval Historical Center’s Photographic Section. U.S. Coast Guard photos, with USCG preceding the number, are held by either the Coast Guard Headquarters (History Office) or the National Archives (Still Picture Branch). The NASA photographs are held by NASA Headquarters, Public Affairs Office (News and Imaging Branch).
